You really only have three major digital players-Canon, Nikon, and Sony-with two camera designs- DSLR and mirrorless-and two sensor sizes- crop sensor and full frame. The high-quality digital camera market is more homogenous than the film camera market was. It can also make you a much better photographer by forcing you to slow down and think. I can't get Hanwha Techwin Device Manager to detect or connect to the these either.Film photography is making a comeback- Kodak has just relaunched Ektachrome, a film they discontinued five years ago-and for a good reason: when everything is digital, going analog is fun. I can't get the Samsung Smartviewer to connect to these devices although it did detect one of them by the IP address. There doesn't seem to be a difference between the two that I can tell. The newer one was a factory refurbished unit and came with newer firmware. Those are obviously date codes and as you can see, one is a year newer than the other. I can't find firmware although one of my units is "Software version V7.1.0-20170330" and the other is "V7.1.0-20160401". I ended up having to use Slimjet browser to make it work because the web interface was built on Microsoft Silverlight and thats no longer supported by any other browser even in compatibility mode. I managed to get the devices mobile app and the web viewer to work. Its a fantastic unit and I liked it so much, I got a second one.

This is an 8 channel 1080p DVR with 2TB storage. I called them about a year and a half ago regarding my sdr-b74301 and they told me that they wouldn't support Samsung devices and there would be no firmware updates.
Just called - office closed today due to "electrical problems".
